250W electric cargo bike international version with torque sensor, up to 340 km range (dual battery 48V 19.2 Ah x2 = 921.6 Wh), 75 Nm torque, 200 kg payload. 20x3.0-inch tyres, 180 mm hydraulic brakes, Shimano 7-speed gears.
Perfect for family transport, shopping, deliveries or long distances.
The ENGWE LE20 is an electric cargo bike designed to replace your car for daily use. Available in single battery (48V 19.2 Ah / 921.6 Wh) or dual battery (48V 19.2 Ah x2 / 1843.2 Wh) versions, it offers exceptional range: up to 175 km with single battery, 340 km with dual battery (PAS 1 mode, 75 kg rider).
With its torque sensor, 250 W motor delivering 75 Nm of torque (international version – rear hub), 180 mm hydraulic brakes and 200 kg payload capacity, the LE20 is a genuine family workhorse. The international version differs from the EU version with its rear hub motor (250 W / 75 Nm) versus mid-drive motor (250 W / 100 Nm) for the EU version, but maintains the same 25 km/h road approval.
✔ Record range: up to 175 km (single battery) or 340 km (dual battery)
✔ Exceptional load capacity: 200 kg (bike + rider + cargo)
✔ 180 mm hydraulic disc brakes – enhanced safety
✔ Torque sensor for natural and responsive riding
✔ Optional dual battery with 8 A fast charging (2–3 h)
✔ Comprehensive equipment: rear indicators, front suspension, connected app, 20x3.0-inch puncture-resistant tyres
✔ Excellent range/price ratio for a cargo bike
❌ Very heavy: 36.8 kg (single battery) to 41.5 kg (dual battery)
❌ Large footprint (190 cm length) – requires substantial storage space
❌ High price in optimal configuration (dual battery + fast charging + accessories)
❌ EU approval stated (25 km/h, 250 W) but International Version differs from EU model – caution required
❌ 20x3.0-inch tyres (fat but narrow) – less comfort on very rough terrain than 4.0-inch
Versus the Fiido T1 Pro (250 W cargo, ~130 km range, 150 kg load), the LE20 stands out with superior range (175–340 km vs 130 km), higher payload (200 kg vs 150 kg) and torque sensor (vs cadence sensor on Fiido T1 Pro).
Versus the RadWagon 4 (market benchmark), the LE20 is more affordable, longer range (especially dual battery) but less established with a less extensive aftersales network.
⚠️ Approval caution: the specifications indicate International Version with 250 W / 75 Nm rear hub motor, whilst the EU version (visible on website) features a 250 W / 100 Nm mid-drive motor. EU road approval (25 km/h) is maintained, but ensure when ordering you select the version suitable for your country. The lack of explicit clear choice between versions may cause confusion.
✔ you're looking for a cargo bike to replace your car daily (children, shopping, deliveries)
✔ you need very long range (> 150 km) without daily recharging
✔ you regularly transport heavy loads (up to 200 kg)
✔ weight (37–42 kg) and size don't concern you
✔ you want a torque sensor without exceeding £2500–3000
✔ you ride mainly on roads and compacted paths (not extreme off-road)
❌ you're looking for a lightweight bike (< 30 kg) to carry or store easily
❌ you have limited storage space (flat without bike storage)
❌ you ride on very rough terrain (3.0-inch tyres limited)
❌ you want completely transparent and unambiguous EU approval (prefer European manufacturer with clear documentation)
❌ you'll never use cargo capacity and prefer a more manoeuvrable bike
